The study has the intention to evaluate the basic economic and other effects of the privatisation process of public sector enterprises and in particular in terms of their impact on improving effi ciency, quality of services, quality management, price trends, consumer welfare, the size of capital investment and employment. As a sample of two public companies in Croatia, which are in the majority (HT) or partly privatized (INA), the project provides an analysis of key economic and social impacts of privatisation in comparison with two selected groups of countries a) new EU member countries and b) selected countries of Southeast Europe which have privatized telecommunications and petroleum industry.
