The development of the “Study of the impact of climate change on tourism” is part of the project “Management of karst coastal aquifers threatened by climate change (UKV)” (KK.05.1.1.02.0022). The main research activities of the project are related to the analysis of the legislative framework, analysis of previous knowledge about the impacts of climate change on tourism with an emphasis on changes related to water resources in the European Union and the Republic of Croatia, and analysis of the situation and case studies of specific manifestations of the impact of climate change on tourism for three pilot areas: Zadar and surroundings, Blatsko polje on Korčula and Vransko jezero on Cres. Based on the results of the research, proposals for adaptation measures to climate change in the state of water resources for the tourism sector were prepared.
