The new issue of SEE-6 Economic Outlook (Vol. 7, No. 2, November 2021) presents an overview of developments in Croatian economy in the first half of 2021 and newest forecasts of economic growth for the whole year as well as for 2022-2024. The author of this section of publication is Dr Nevenka Čučković from IRMO.
Even the most optimistic forecasts for the 2021 did not envisage such a swift recovery of Croatian economy from a deep recession caused by negative impacts of COVID-19 pandemic. Now the governmental and the international projections quite unanimously anticipate that such an economic recovery is likely to offset entirely the huge fall of GDP in 2020. The growth continuation prospects for the 2022-2024 period also look very favourable, despite the fact that they depend significantly on further success in managing and restraining the pandemic. Text brings an analysis of factors that contributed to strong economic revival in 2021, which also includes quarterly developments of a number of important macroeconomic indicators, such as consumption, exports, imports, investments, employment, fiscal deficit, inflation rate and others.
SEE-6 Economic Outlook is a biannual publication in English published by the members of the SEEA association since 2015. The publication provides an overview of economic trends as well as short and medium-term forecasts for six countries of Southeast Europe. It is published by the Institute of Economic Sciences Belgrade in cooperation with the partner institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Slovenia, among which is IRMO, Zagreb.
