The recently published monograph „La joie de Paris: Joy of Paris – Treasure of Art“, by Damir Demonja, Ph.D., is a unique collection of 18 textsdivided into three parts, which deals with the architecture of Paris, its interesting museums and cultural and tourist attractions of the city.

The book will be presented in the form of a conversation, moderated by Maja Peterlić, B.Sc., that will tackle the topic from the perspective of cultural history, art history and architectural history, lesser-known but equally important cultural, historical and tourist attractions of Paris, which are also an important urban and/or cultural component of this city. The presented places of the city of Paris include paths not usually traced by most tourist guides, but recognized as destinations of cultural tourism and its sub-forms – architecture tourism and museum tourism, are an invitation to future travellers to visit these inspiring locations in the „city of light“.

The intention of this book presentation is to enable a better understanding of Paris as the centre of world culture, to attract participants to visit it, and not only the well-known places but also the lesser-known, equally attractive and interesting ones. Moreover, the presentation aims to stimulate additional scientific and cultural interest in French culture in Croatia, popularize French cultural values and expand French-Croatian relations.
