The Institute for Oceanography and Fisheries and IRMO will implement the Revision of documents of the Marine and Coastal Management Strategy based on the obligations under Art. 8, Art. 9 and Article 10 of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive 2008 56 EC for the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy of the Republic of Croatia.
IRMO will be engaged in the collection and analysis of economic and social indicators on a sample of 134 local self-government units in the coastal area and 7 regional self-government units on the islands in the Republic of Croatia. Some of the data that will be collected and analyzed are regional self-government units’ budget for environmental protection, income and employment by economic sectors, number of visitors, number of nights and spending of tourists as a factor of pressure on the coastal and marine environment.
