Assessment and Classification of Local and Regional Self-administration on Units According to Development Index

The goal of the project was to implement the evaluation of local and regional self-administration units according to their degree of development in accordance with the Regulation on the development index and the Law on Regional  Development. The terms of reference included the implementation of the following activities: (i) development of detailed specification data (name and description of data, time series, spatial level) and their sources that are still missing to  calculate the development index; (ii) data processing, calculation of the value of all indicators which make the  development index and the development index for all local and regional self-administration units in Croatia; (iii) classifi cation of local and regional self-administration units according to development indexes in groups in accordance with Articles 24 and 25 of the Law on Regional Development, the selection of local and regional self-administration units that meet the criteria for assisted area status (Article 26 of the Law on Regional Development) and delivery of the preliminary results of the implementation of the evaluation process to the Ministry of Regional Development, Forestry and Water Management; (iv) Development of a detailed report on the implementation of evaluation and classification process of local and regional self-administration units according to their degree of development and the selection of assisted areas.
