The objective of the Terms of Reference is to develop a study that will enable the establishment of a new system for measuring the development of islands based on island development indicators. As part of the project, a database of island development indicators, a methodology for calculating island development and a proposal for classifying islands into development groups were developed. The database of island development indicators includes indicators for 6 thematic groups of island development indicators and 25 subgroups of thematic island development indicators in accordance with the Regulation on the assessment of island development. Also, island development indicators are classified into indicators of inputs, outputs, outcomes and impacts for each subgroup of thematic island development indicators, which provides an additional analytical basis for assessing the effects of measures to encourage island development.
