Sandro Knezović, Ph.D., participated at the conference “Regional Security Cooperation in South East Europe in the aftermath of North Macedonia’s NATO Accession”, organized by the Austrian National Defence Academy, Directorate General for Security Policy at the Austrian Ministry of Defence, PfP Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes, and European Policy Institute, Skopje/North Macedonia, held in Skopje, North Macedonia, from 23rd to 26th September 2021.
The Conference elaborated security orientation, regional security cooperation, and reforms of armed forces, police, and intelligence of individual Western Balkan countries. Options for improving regional security cooperation, with the support of regional mechanisms, bilateral/multilateral programmes, EU, and NATO, were also discussed. Participants at the conference were representatives of the Austrian Ministry of Defence, representative from NATO Headquarter Sarajevo, and representatives of academic communities of Austria, Germany, and South European countries.
