The aim of the project is to contribute to better engagement of local communities in the management of protected areas and to the strengthening of local community in monitoring national policies for environmental protection, which is a significant contribution to the efficient transposition of the EU legislation on environmental protection in the region in the near future. IRMO has participated in the activities of stake holders mapping, interviews were held with key decision makers related to identification of possibilities of integration of sustainable management of natural values into the creation of development policies. The efforts were directed towards providing assistance to protected areas to increase their active role in local social and economic development through active, engaged and fruitful interaction with local and national decision makers.
